They are making decisions based off massive amounts data. These systems can do everything from dynamic pricing online to reading job applications faster than humans. Turing test, MIT Technology Review

Turing test is a common test to determine how intelligent computers are. But it can be hard to perform correctly. The test involves an interrogator asking questions to the subject. The two sides are in separate rooms, and the test is conducted without physical contact. The responses of the test subject are then evaluated to see whether or not they can distinguish between human responses and non-human responses. If one question is answered differently by a machine than it is by a human, the Turing test may be failed.

Also, the Turing test is controversial. Some critics argue that the test does not measure highly intelligent behavior. For a machine to pass this test it must appear as intelligent a human. The machine should also not seem to be too intelligent. For example, solving computational problems impossible for a person would make it appear that they aren't human.
